Morus alba is the mulberry famed as the food source for the silk worm. They can have the leaves, but us humans will take the fruit which can be white, pink or black in this species. ‘Maple Leaf’ is a special selection with ornamental dissected and lobed foliage that resembles that of a maple tree. Its tasty purple-black fruit are similar to ‘Oscar’, one of the finest tasting of all mulberries. The fruit are also popular with birds and other wildlife. Mulberries are fast-growing trees.
