Perovskia atriplicifolia ‘Sage Advice’ is an earlier blooming Russian sage. It has bright silver-green foliage and upright spikes of fragrant, dark lavender purple flowers from midsummer with darker purple calyces that extend the colour display well into mid fall. Plants will grow up to 36 inches tall and 32 inches wide. Does best in hot conditions forming a lovely haze of colour at the middle to back of the border, and in the cottage and pollinator gardens. Tolerates dry climates and is very cold hardy. Attracts hummingbirds and pollinators. Deer resistant.

Native Habitat: Native to southwestern and central Asia and parts of eastern Europe. The harsh habitats it prefers are comparable to the sagebrush steppe of North America. It is found in steppes and on hillsides, and grows at higher elevations in mountainous regions, including the Himalayas. May be an indicator species for soils with low calcium availability.
