Phlomis tuberosa ‘Amazone’ has whorls of elegant and unusual, lavendar-pink blooms arranged in dense clusters at intervals along burgundy stems May through July, followed by attractive seed heads in autumn. An unusual and quite stunning member of the mint family, taller and more vigorous than the species. Bushy plants with rough textured, arrow-shaped green leaves. Best in sandy, fertile, well-drained soil, tolerating drought better than damp.
