Phlox paniculata ‘Blue Flame’ is a bushy, compact garden phlox to just 20 inches tall with gorgeous, very fragrant flowers that open from deep indigo buds slowly unwinding into pinwheels of white flushed variably with light lavender-blue surrounding violet eyes. Very resistant to powdery mildew and easy to grow. Use in the mixed sunny border, plant in drifts, in small spaces, in containers and use in the vase. Deadhead to encourage rebloom. Butterfly and hummingbird attractor. Somewhat deer resistant.
