Rhododendron ‘Chionoides’ features rounded trusses of lightly scented, large, ivory-white, bell-shaped flowers with yellow-gold-flecked throats. Narrow, glossy and dark green foliage provides the perfect contrast. The growth habit is compact and wider than it is tall, 4 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide. Responds well to pruning after flowering. Benefits from evenly moist, well-drained, slightly acidic-based soil and mulch. Use as an informal hedge, accent, foundation or understory shrub, mass planting and for winter interest. Attracts bees and bumblebees. Deer and rabbit resistant.
